What drives us
The suffering and impact caused by skin disease is often under appreciated but can be devastating and life altering for patients and their loved ones. We specialize in research on inflammatory skin conditions such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis and hidradenitis suppurativa at our research program and practice at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Our clinical trials unit, Clinical Laboratory for Epidemiology and Applied Research in Skin (CLEARS), was established in 2017 by Alexa Kimball, MD, MPH and Martina Porter, MD. The investigators have more than 15 years of experience in investigator initiated and industry sponsored studies.
We are committed to making you better; even if the path isn't always obvious, we will work with you to find an approach that helps. Offering cutting edge therapy, we also often have relevant clinical trials with new approaches for the toughest cases. We also are always engaging in studies and surveys to assess what causes these diseases, how we can improve the quality of life for our patients and answers to questions about associated conditions that may also affect our patients. Core to our mission is training the next generation to help continue these efforts and provide and extend expert care to patients with these diseases worldwide.
